Leading motor insurer has a number of roles for Personal Injury Claims Consultants at varying levels. The roles will involve settling Personal Injury and Liability claims through correct negotiations so that customer requirements are met and the claims policy is adhered to. Settling Personal Injury claims including claimants costs through correct negotiations with Third parties. Settling Personal Injury claims within set guidelines. Investigating and making sound judgement on liability. Investigating and using prudent judgement on value and quantum. Negotiating settlement at appropriate level. Providing earliest resolution of the claims for the customer. Responsible for complying with all internal, regulatory and statutory standards and controls, so that the requirements of the Group and regulatory bodies are met. Responsible for quality auditing and feedback at the appropriate level.

Contributing to the setting and monitoring of technical standards. Identifying any invalid claims and dealing with these claims in an appropriate manner, including giving feedback to the internal technical team handling fraud detection and prevention. Managing own caseload in a timely manner and in accordance with the company’s quality standards. Providing technical advice and guidance to all claims staff, including responsibility for correctly allocating work to right skill group and ensuring claims are appropriately sent to suppliers when relevant. Handling litigation under referral as required. Negotiating settlement of cases face-to-face and running conferences with barristers or attending court, as required.

Prospective applicants must have significant experience in handling claims up to £25,000. An understanding of multi track procedures and a proven track record in utilising experts to best tactical advantage. Ability to negotiate and settle claims in a proactive way. Good understanding of relevant legislation and procedures. Working knowledge of relevant case law. Good communication skills. The ability to apply prudent judgement in difficult situations. Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and take responsibility for own workload.
